Our Mission and Vision

Chapman Mills Public School opened its doors to students in 2013. It is a beautiful two storey building featuring bright colours and an abundance of natural light and open spaces. The building is one of the most environmentally friendly in the district. From an energy perspective, the mandate for the new school design was to embrace new technologies in both energy conservation and modular building systems. To that end, the exterior walls of the school are made of a factory finished highly insulated metal panel system.

Our technologically enhanced school is targeted at bringing the world into our classrooms.
  • Our double gym, with a full stage provides ample opportunity for athletic and creative pursuits.
  • The library, with floor to ceiling windows has a growing collection of books.
  • Teacher resource areas, Literacy, Math, Science and Technology rooms provide meeting places to support ongoing collaboration.
  • Our school yard offers plenty of opportunities for healthy play and exercise with a basketball court, soccer field, pavement games, 2 play structures, a fenced kindergarten play area, and a beautiful nature corner.

The students at Chapman Mills PS participate in a variety of activities to augment life at the school and in the community. Students participate in the Terry Fox walk and have been participating in school wide activities to raise funds and awareness of the United Way Campaign. School life is enhanced via intramural and interschool sports, students’ council, choir, newspaper club, knitting club, and other extracurricular clubs.

We acknowledge the students’ contributions in our classrooms through school announcements, emails, assemblies, and in the principal’s report to School Council.

A strong commitment to Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility is embedded throughout the OCDSB 2023-2027 Strategic Plan and captured within each area of focus: learning, well-being, and social responsibility. We strive to ensure that our school is a welcoming and safe place for students of all identities to feel valued and respected as they engage, learn, grow, explore, and discover.
