Our Council and school mission is routed in four pillars of guiding beliefs.
1. Identity – everyone belongs
2. Wellness – a focus on community wellness, and mental health for all students, families and faculty.
3. Achievement- every student has the right to achieve in various environments, through engaged learning while keeping everyone safe.
4. Community – In keeping CMPS mission statement in mind, our community pillar will focus on providing everyone with a diverse, inspiring, inclusive comet community.

Chapman Mills Public School
2024 - 2025

	Executive Chair Trish Taylor This is Trish’s fourth year on School Council, and second year as Chair. Trish has two daughters, in grades four and JK, and is proud to be a part of the CMPS community. Trish holds a PhD in biochemistry and is proud to champion STEAM.
	Treasurer Nivedita Muthukumarasay Prior to CMPS she was Vice-Chair for the OCV SouthWest school council, which was a wonderful experience and inspired her to continue to support the school as a parent and as a council member. She has 1 kid at CMPS, who loves the school and all the teachers and staff who are working hard to engage with the students. As Treasurer, Nivé hopes to work closely with the school principal and staff to support their priorities for the year and to promote positive growth. She is also excited to work with a council of passionate members and build lasting relationships with other parents in the school and community
	Secretaries Nicole Anozie I am a new member of the CMPS Parent Council and parent. I have a strong focus on advocating for Black and racialized students and families, and am committed to ensuring these voices are represented and heard within the school community. In my role as secretary, I intend on supporting clear communication and helping to foster an inclusive environment where all families feel welcome. Passionate about equity and inclusion, I look forward to contributing to positive change for all students at CMPS. Karin Green
	Fundraising and Events Coordinator Mary Melady This is Mary’s fifth year on CMPS Parent Council. Mary is mom of two at CMPS and a military wife. She is going on her 5th year of involvement with the council and works full time at The Ottawa Heart Institute.

	Communication Coordinator Melina Larizza This is Melina’s third year on council. She is a mom of two children at CMPS. She is passionate about body safety and consent education for children and would love to see more prevention initiatives in our schools. Melina is looking forward to working with other council members and school staff to enrich the school experience for students, parents and staff!
	Hot Lunch Coordinators Ola Al-Braich Hasini Senarath Hasini is dedicated to creating a positive and efficient environment as a Hot Lunch Coordinator, where she will focus on ensuring students receive healthy, enjoyable meals. Hasini believes in teamwork and collaboration, and encourages all staff and parents to actively contribute to making the program a success. Together, we can support the well-being of our students and foster a sense of community within the school.
