Our Council and school mission is routed in four pillars of guiding beliefs. 
1. Identity – everyone belongs
2. Wellness – a focus on community wellness, and mental health for all students, families and faculty.
3. Achievement- every student has the right to achieve in various environments, through engaged learning while keeping everyone safe.
4. Community – In keeping CMPS mission statement in mind, our community pillar will focus on providing everyone with a diverse, inspiring, inclusive comet community.

Nivedita Muthukumarasa

This is Nivedita's second year as chair of the CMPS school council. Prior to CMPS she was Vice-Chair for the OCV SouthWest school council, which was a wonderful experience and inspired her to continue to support the school as a parent and as a council member. She has 2 kids in CMPS, who love the school and all the teachers and staff who are working hard to engage with the students and keep them safe during this pandemic. As Council Chair, Nivé hopes to work closely with the school principal and staff to support their priorities for the year and to promote positive  growth. She is also excited to work with a council of passionate members and build lasting relationships with other parents in the school and community.

This is Trish’s second year on school council. Trish has a daughter in grade two and she is excited to be a part of the CMPS community. Trish holds a PhD in biochemistry and is proud to champion STEAM.

Mary Melady

This is Mary’s third year as Secretary for the CMPS Parent Council. Mary is mom of two at CMPS and a military wife.  She is going on her 4th year of involvement with the council and works full time at The Ottawa Heart Institute.

This is the first year at CMPS and the first year on the school council for Samantha and she has jumped right in with heart and spirit.  You will find Samantha co hosting and organizing events for our FUN-draising initiatives.

Staci Brunet 

Staci has been an active member of the CMPS Community for many years.  She is a teacher by day and a FUN-draiser extraordinaire by night! You will find Staci leading the charge in a collaborative manner to raise funds through various initaitves and events to support our students.

Laura St-Cyr 

Laura has two children at Chapman Mills and this is third second year serving as communications coordinator for council.  Laura serves on multiple not for profit boards relating to early childhood learning and maternal-infant health.  Laura has over 15 years in wealth and risk management and runs her own financial service firm. Laura brings a great deal of energy to the council and is a strong advocate for financial literacy in children.

Melina Larizza 

This is Melina’s first year serving on council. She is a mom of two and has one son in senior kindergarten at CMPS. Melina holds a Master of Applied Bioscience. Melina works in the domain of anti-human trafficking and has a strong passion for bringing awareness to the realities of human trafficking to communities across Canada/Turtle Island. She is also passionate about body safety and consent education for children and would love to see more prevention initiatives in our schools. Melina is looking forward to working with other council members and school staff to enrich the school experience
for students, parents and staff! Je suis bilingue et parle très bien le français. Parlo anche in po’ di italiano.

This is Kim’s sixth year on parent council. Kim has been exceptional at managing corporate investment projects for the greening of our school yard for students.

Katrina has been a council member for four years and has two children at the school. She is looking forward to doing her part to support Chapman Mills PS in being a wonderful community for our children to learn and grow in.

Kelly-Ann Wuang

Kelly-Ann is a past chair of CMPS.  Kelly-Ann has two daughters at Chapman Mills, her youngest in grade 1 and eldest in grade 5. She has been an active member of council for 5 years and is excited to continue her involvement in the CMPS community this year as a Member-at-Large.
